Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha has spoken openly about his future in an interview with Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, admitting that a return to FC Porto is something he would seriously consider — but only under the right sporting conditions.

Now firmly established as one of the world’s elite midfielders, Vitinha was a central figure in PSG’s historic 2025 season, which ended with six trophies and a third-place finish in the Ballon d’Or. At just 25 years old and under contract with PSG until 2029, his market value is estimated at over €110 million.

Despite his rise in Paris, the Portuguese international did not hide his emotional attachment to his boyhood club.

Vitinha: “I Feel at Home at the Dragão”

“I would really like to play in that shirt again because I feel at home at the Dragão,” Vitinha told O Jogo.

“But it will depend a lot on how my career evolves and also on FC Porto’s situation, because I will always depend on the club’s objectives and ambitions.”

While the idea of a return clearly appeals to him, Vitinha was just as clear about what he doesn’t want.

“Not as a Reward at the End of My Career”

The PSG midfielder ruled out any sentimental or symbolic comeback, insisting that he would only return to Porto to compete at the highest level.

“I don’t want to return as a reward for my career,” he said.

“That wouldn’t make sense for me or for a club like Porto.”

Out of respect for a club that has won two Champions League titles (1987, 2004), Vitinha stressed that any potential return would need to align with Porto’s ambitions — not nostalgia.

From Porto to Paris — and Still Rising

Before joining PSG in the summer of 2022 for €41 million, Vitinha made 59 appearances for FC Porto in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists with the Dragons.

Today, he is a cornerstone of Luis Enrique’s midfield, a Champions League winner, and one of PSG’s most consistent performers. A move away from Paris is not on the table, but his words confirm that the door to Porto is not closed — just carefully guarded.
