Paris Saint-Germain have activated a one-year contract option for Ibrahim Mbaye, extending the deal of the young Franco-Senegalese winger until June 2028.
Less than a year after signing his first professional contract with the club, Mbaye continues to earn the trust of PSG’s sporting staff. The 17-year-old, who will turn 18 in January, has impressed in recent weeks with a goal against Rennes, two assists against Metz and his most complete performance so far with the first team.
Currently in Qatar with the PSG squad ahead of the Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo (Wednesday, 6pm CET), Mbaye will then travel to Morocco to represent Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
A clause activated, not a new contract
Mbaye initially signed his first professional contract in February 2025, running until 2027, with an additional year included as an option. According to RMC Sport, PSG have now formally exercised that clause, extending the agreement by one season.
This move secures the winger’s future in the short term and gives the club more flexibility ahead of potential negotiations for a longer-term deal.
