PSG’s trip to the Basque Country turned turbulent once again. After their tricky landing on Tuesday, the Parisians faced more trouble following their 0–0 draw at San Mamés. According to multiple Basque media outlets, the PSG team bus was attacked twice during the night, and a minor has already been arrested by local police.
RMC Sport reports that the vehicle, parked outside PSG’s hotel in central Bilbao, was struck by projectiles while empty. Two visible impact marks were found on the bus, forcing the club to change vehicles on Thursday morning before heading to Bilbao Airport. The team departed around 10:40 a.m., with arrival in Paris expected shortly before noon.
Two Separate Incidents Confirmed
Local outlet El Correo adds further detail:
- The first incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m., as the bus carrying PSG players was approaching the Meliá hotel under police escort.
- A bottle was thrown, lightly injuring an Ertzaintza officer who had stepped out of his vehicle to reinforce security.
- Police in plain clothes quickly detained the minor responsible, according to the same source.
Despite the disturbances, the remainder of PSG’s departure took place without further issues.
