Walid Regragui has revealed Morocco’s squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, and as expected, Achraf Hakimi is included. The PSG right-back is not listed among the two reserve players.

AFCON kicks off in exactly ten days in Morocco, and Regragui announced a group of 28 players, including two reserves: Lille striker Hamza Igamane, who recently suffered a hamstring issue against Marseille, and Youssef Belammari, the left-back from Raja Casablanca. Despite being injured on November 4 against Bayern Munich, Hakimi is part of the final squad.

This comes as no surprise. The Moroccan defender has been running again since last week and has already joined his national team setup to continue his recovery, supervised by two PSG staff members — a doctor and a physiotherapist — according to RMC Sport. Hakimi hopes to be fully fit for the opening match against the Comoros, though that still needs confirmation.

Morocco’s AFCON List Featuring Hakimi

The players selected by Regragui will officially report to the national team camp on Monday, December 15, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. According to local media, the technical staff will focus their short preparation on team cohesion, tactical work, and the implementation of the systems planned for the tournament.

Hakimi will return to PSG after Morocco’s AFCON run. The final is scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026 — just two days before PSG travel to Lisbon to face Sporting in the Champions League. PSG then play Auxerre away on Friday, January 23 in Ligue 1, followed by a Champions League match against Newcastle at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, January 28.
