Linked with a move to Galatasaray over the weekend, Fabian Ruiz is now close to extending his contract with Paris Saint-Germain by two additional years.

After finalising the contract extensions of Willian Pacho (to 2030) and Ibrahim Mbaye (to 2028), PSG are close to securing the future of another key player: Fabian Ruiz.

A central figure under Luis Enrique for several months, the 29-year-old Spanish midfielder is currently under contract until June 2027, like Senny Mayulu. His situation was therefore considered a priority for the club.

Over the weekend, Spanish media reignited rumours of a potential transfer to Galatasaray, but the reports were contradictory and largely disconnected from the reality of the situation.

Extension until 2029 now imminent

On Tuesday morning, one day after PSG’s elimination against Paris FC, Italian transfer specialist Matteo Morettoreported that Fabian Ruiz is close to signing a two-year contract extension, keeping him at PSG until June 2029. The information was quickly confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

PSG’s intention to extend Ruiz’s contract had already emerged in the autumn, and negotiations have now reached an advanced stage. The club could even choose to announce several extensions simultaneously, as it did last February with Luis Enrique, Vitinha, Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes.

PSG can now focus on other major dossiers

With Fabian Ruiz’s extension almost secured, PSG can now turn their attention to other key contract situations — notably Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola, both under contract until 2028 and represented by the same agent.

The case of Senny Mayulu, whose contract expires in 2027, also represents a short-term priority for the club.
