Luis Enrique appeared relaxed and satisfied in the press conference room on Saturday night after PSG’s 4–0 win against Vendée Fontenay Foot. Happy to close out the 2025 calendar year with a victory — and just as happy to finally reach the winter break — the Paris coach reflected on the match, praised Ousmane Dembélé’s hour on the pitch, and looked ahead to a well-earned rest before returning in January.

Here is the full transcript of his press conference.

Can this match be good for Ousmane Dembélé’s confidence? He delivered an assist, converted a penalty after missing one on Wednesday, and received a warm ovation at the end.

“I think so, yes. It’s important to get minutes, and the players who are in the process of regaining fitness played, I think, a good match. Playing 60 minutes is important.”

Did you appreciate your players’ professionalism in this context?

“It’s good to play in the Cup, in a stadium with this kind of atmosphere. It was a celebration, and we played seriously. It’s always difficult when you face a team from a very different level. The gap was big, but I think we prepared the match well and the players played very well.”

This was the final match of the 2025 calendar year. Is it time to take stock? How would you define this year?

“It’s historic for the club. Normally, evaluations are done at the end of the season, since we’re currently in the 2025–26 season. So it’s not really the moment to assess everything. But if we look only at the calendar year of 2025, it’s clearly historic for the club and for Paris. We’re happy. And we’re also happy to have the Christmas break. It’s important for us to recover. After the holidays, we’ll be happy to come back and focus on what remains to be done this season.”

Do you already know when training will resume?

“Yes! I remember. (The journalist jokes, ‘Will you send me a message?’) I think we’ll come back on the 4th — just in time for the Paris FC match! I’m joking.”

Does winning six trophies this year change PSG’s status? Is the club now on the same level as Barcelona or Bayern?

“For whom? For us? For the opponents? For who?”

— In terms of how PSG is perceived by others.

“For others, you’ll have to ask them. For me, it changes nothing. We’re happy, we did our job. But making history at PSG means a lot for us — for the players, for the team. And we want to keep winning trophies. I think we’ve shown this isn’t about luck. It’s been very good work, and we hope to continue having the opportunity to win trophies.”

As the press officer asked for a final question, Luis Enrique cut in with a smile:

“Bravo, that’s it! Happy holidays! Enjoy the break!”
