On the eve of the Coupe de France Round of 32 clash against Vendée Fontenay Foot, Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Willian Pacho will not be part of the squad for Saturday night’s match.

As PSG await a final medical update — and the expected confirmation of Lee Kang-in’s absence following his injury against Flamengo on Wednesday — the club officially announced that the Ecuadorian center-back has been released early and granted rest ahead of the Christmas break.

“In agreement with the sporting direction and technical staff, Willian Pacho has been given rest. He will return to full training with the group after the Christmas break,” PSG confirmed on social media this Friday.

PSG did not announce a similar rest decision for Marquinhos, meaning the Brazilian captain could still be included in the squad, although he is not expected to start.

Three confirmed absences — possibly more

In addition to Pacho, PSG will also be without Achraf Hakimi (Morocco) and Ibrahim Mbaye (Senegal), both of whom have departed to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins this Sunday.

That brings the number of confirmed absences to three, with Lee Kang-in very unlikely to feature after being forced off injured against Flamengo. A final medical confirmation regarding the South Korean midfielder is still expected, but his participation appears highly improbable.

PSG will therefore head into their final match of 2025 with a rotated squad, as Luis Enrique balances recovery, injuries, and international call-ups ahead of a packed January schedule.
