PSG Lands Safely in Bilbao After Turbulent Flight Scare
Paris Saint-Germain arrived in Bilbao on Tuesday afternoon after experiencing a surprisingly turbulent trip from Paris.
The team left Le Bourget late in the morning on a Boeing 737, with the pilot warning the delegation before takeoff that the approach into Spain could be rough due to unstable weather conditions.
Those warnings proved accurate. As the aircraft neared Bilbao, it encountered a significant pocket of turbulence, giving players and staff quite a scare. According to multiple sources, the pilot had to execute a corrective maneuver — briefly angling the plane sideways to stabilize it, then increasing thrust just before touchdown — before landing safely around 12:30 p.m.
Although the incident shocked some passengers, no injuries were reported, and the team continued on to its hotel without further issues.
Later in the day, Luis Enrique and Fabián Ruiz held the scheduled press conference but made no reference to the flight, choosing instead to focus on the upcoming match and the team’s final training session.
PSG shared photos of the squad arriving in the Basque Country but did not comment on the conditions of the flight.
