Eliminated by Paris FC despite dominating the game from start to finish, PSG head coach Luis Enrique chose to focus on the performance rather than the result. Speaking after the match, the Spanish coach highlighted the number of chances created and insisted his team fully deserved victory.

25 shots, no goals, elimination

After a match where PSG registered 25 shots without scoring, Luis Enrique was asked what message he would deliver to his players following the defeat.

“I never speak to the players right after the match. It’s completely forbidden,” he said.

“Whether we win or lose, it’s not the right moment to talk or analyze.”

The PSG coach then gave a straightforward assessment of the game:

“We created a lot of chances. We deserved to win this match. We played well. But to win in football, you have to score goals. We didn’t, and we have to accept this defeat.”

No fatigue excuse

Asked whether the heavy match schedule and the rhythm of playing every three days could explain the elimination, Luis Enrique firmly rejected that idea.

“No, not at all,” he replied.

“We had 25 shots. We created many chances. We dominated the match from the first minute to the last. We did everything to win.”

Satisfied with the attitude and intensity shown by his team, the PSG coach nonetheless acknowledged football’s harsh reality:

“I am very happy with what I saw — the intensity, the way the team played. But football is a sport where you have to score goals, and today it wasn’t our day. We have to accept that.”

Respect for Paris FC

Despite the disappointment, Luis Enrique ended by congratulating PSG’s local rivals:

“I wish Paris FC all the best. They are our rivals, but we clearly deserved to win this match.”
