After scoring his sixth goal of the season on Sunday night against Paris FC, Désiré Doué has officially kicked off the buildup to Thursday’s Trophée des Champions showdown between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille.
PSG began 2026 with a 2–1 derby win over Paris FC, and once again Doué found the net—just as he did against Fontenay and Metz before the winter break. He had also delivered an assist in the Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo. A welcome run of form for the 2025 Golden Boy, who missed several weeks earlier this season through injury.
“I feel very, very good,” Doué told reporters in the mixed zone after the match.
“I’m working really well at the club. I came back not long after my injuries, and I’m very grateful to be back on the pitch tonight. It’s important for me to be able to play and help the team, and I’m very happy.”
Praise for Dembélé
Doué also highlighted the performance of Ousmane Dembélé, who scored the winning goal against Paris FC:
“Ousmane, you know he’s exceptional,” Doué said.
“Tonight, he helped us a lot. He has a very important role in the team, he helps us tremendously. He’s a leader, and once again he delivered a very good performance.”
Hungry for More Silverware
Doué and Dembélé could both be back in action as early as Thursday in Kuwait, where PSG will face Marseille in the Trophée des Champions—another opportunity to add to an already historic trophy haul.
Asked whether PSG might finally be satisfied after so many titles, Doué was crystal clear:
“Are we satisfied with trophies? No, no,” he replied.
“We want to win as many trophies as possible. Every trophy in front of us, we want to go and eat it—as you say, since you use the word ‘satisfied’. It’s important. And on top of that, it’s Marseille, so it’s a match with even more at stake. We’ll have to win.”
