On the eve of the Paris derby between Paris Saint-Germain and Paris FC, the situation regarding absentees is becoming clearer. PSG have officially confirmed four players will miss the match, while a major attacking player has been added to the list of doubts.
Four Players Ruled Out
PSG’s medical report at the start of 2026 is identical to the one that closed out 2025, with four confirmed absentees:
- Kang-in Lee continues to train individually following a muscle injury to his left thigh.
- Quentin Ndjantou, suffering from a right thigh muscle injury, will be unavailable for the coming weeks.
- Matvey Safonov is still undergoing adapted training as he recovers from a fracture to his left hand.
- Martin James, PSG’s fourth-choice goalkeeper, is ill and remains at rest.
With Safonov still sidelined and James unavailable, PSG may have to look deep into their goalkeeping hierarchy to fill the matchday squad, with Bilal Laurendon a possible call-up as third goalkeeper.
There is, however, one piece of good news: David Boly, who ended 2025 injured against Vendée Fontenay, does not appear in the medical update and is therefore considered fit.
Kvaratskhelia a Late Doubt
The most concerning development did not come from the official medical report, but from RMC journalist Arthur Perrot, who reported that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was absent from Saturday’s final training session.
According to the report, the Georgian winger suffered a knock during Friday’s practice. His absence on the eve of the match places him firmly in the “doubtful” category. PSG are known for taking a cautious approach with player fitness — especially at the start of the calendar year — making any risk unlikely.
