Injured during the Coupe de France win over Vendée Fontenay, Quentin Ndjantou is facing a far more serious setback than initially suggested by the club’s first medical update.
Paris Saint-Germain have ended 2025 with another long-term injury concern. Medical tests carried out on Quentin Ndjantou have revealed a significant muscle injury, contradicting the relatively reassuring message released by the club in the immediate aftermath of his substitution against Fontenay (4–0).
According to information from Le Parisien, the 18-year-old is suffering from a grade 3 hamstring tear. PSG had initially referred only to muscular discomfort, but the diagnosis is far more severe. Ndjantou is now expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, ruling him out until at least mid-February.
This absence means he will miss the entirety of January, a particularly demanding period with seven matches scheduled. Even with a lighter calendar in February, the young attacker is expected to miss close to ten games overall — a significant blow at a time when squad rotation will be essential.
Ndjantou picked up the injury shortly before PSG’s second goal and continued playing until halftime, despite being advised to stop if he felt pain. His determination ultimately worked against him, aggravating the issue.
He now joins Lee Kang-in and Matvey Safonov in the treatment room, with both players expected back around mid-January.
