Paris Saint-Germain have written history.
After a dramatic final in Doha, PSG defeated Flamengo 2–1 on penalties to win the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, becoming the first French club ever to lift the trophy.
The match finished 1–1 after extra time, following a tense and hard-fought contest between the European and South American champions. With no winner after 120 minutes, the final was decided in a penalty shootout.
Safonov, the Difference-Maker
In the shootout, Matvey Safonov delivered a heroic performance, saving four penalties and emerging as the undisputed match-winner. The Russian goalkeeper was decisive under pressure, shutting the door on Flamengo and sealing the trophy for PSG.

A Historic Sextuple for PSG
This triumph also places PSG in elite company. With this Intercontinental Cup victory, Paris become only the third club in football history to win six trophies in a single season, joining:
- FC Barcelona (2009) under Pep Guardiola
- Bayern Munich (2020–2021) under Hansi Flick
PSG are now the first French club to achieve this feat, capping an extraordinary season with a landmark global title.
