Following Ousmane Dembélé’s victory at The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2025 awards on Tuesday night in Doha, FIFA has released the detailed votes cast by national team captains, head coaches and journalists. While the overall ranking has not been made public, the individual ballots provide insight into how several PSG leaders voted — with some notable differences.

The final result was determined by four voting groups — national team coaches, national team captains, journalists and fans — each accounting for 25% of the total vote.

Marquinhos backs Dembélé for first place

As captain of Brazil, Marquinhos placed his PSG teammate Ousmane Dembélé at the top of his ballot. He voted:

  1. Ousmane Dembélé
  2. Raphinha
  3. Achraf Hakimi

Hakimi opts for Mbappé at No.1

Captain of Morocco, Achraf Hakimi was unable to vote for himself and chose not to place Dembélé first. Instead, he favored his close friend Kylian Mbappé, voting:

  1. Kylian Mbappé
  2. Ousmane Dembélé
  3. Raphinha

Hakimi’s ballot notably did not include PSG teammates Vitinha or Nuno Mendes, despite both being among the 11 nominees.

Strong support for Dembélé across voters

Several other figures linked to PSG also placed Dembélé at the top of their rankings:

  • Milan Škriniar, captain of Slovakia, voted:

  • Didier Deschamps, France head coach, selected:
    1. Dembélé – 2. Mbappé – 3. Hakimi
  • Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil head coach and former PSG manager, voted:

Donnarumma also votes Dembélé No.1

As captain of Italy, Gianluigi Donnarumma ranked:

As a result, younger PSG players such as Désiré Doué, João Neves and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were not eligible to receive votes, despite their strong performances this season.
